Greg Marchildon has had a long affiliation with Uwe Reinhardt that began with a conference in Taiwan, continued through the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, and two conferences in Saskatchewan, the Profile of Uwe Reinhardtsecond of which was on Bending the Cost Curve in Health Care at which Uwe Reinhardt gave one of the most insightful and gut-splittingly funny presentations that everyone attending the conference said was the best they had ever seen. Out of that conference, Uwe wrote a chapter on why we should bend the cost curve that was a summary of his lifetime insights as a health economist.
