Centering communities in local heat response: A qualitative, community-based participatory research study in downtown Toronto
This project grew out of the identified need for greater and more meaningful involvement of affected communities in formal extreme heat strategies. The NAO research team partnered with CREW (Community Resilience to Extreme Weather) to better understand how St. James Town neighbourhood residents stay safe during heatwaves and gain insight into how to strengthen relationships between the community and the city.
